Book Mode, pt2

Yeah well I was gonna write a pithy post on why I’m not going to be bothered to post new comics when I said I was going to post new comics. But.

No. The sad fact is that I need to finish a book for 60 Ways To Leave Your Mother (Alone). I want to be done with it for now. Nothing personal. I just promised myself I wouldn’t move on to another project–for once in my life–until I finished this one. Not that I don’t like 60 Ways. Obviously I do. It’s just that I’ve years of other projects to finish. Tissue Curtain. Samata & Sanjay. Tailor’s Apprentice. Most of these stories have scores––sometimes hundreds––of pages worth of research and plotting behind them. I need to finish them.

But none of that until 60 Ways is a book, in some form or another. And it will be a good product, I tell you what.

Check back every week or so, and thanks for being a fan.

Nursing a sick kitty back from the brink of death. Seriously. No 2nd comic this week. Meow.

I’ve been doing a few experiments to see what book layout works best for the comic. There’s pros and cons to both options. If you have any ideas or opinions, I’d love to hear from you.  -Michael

So, I’ve spent the last month or so designing a logo and artwork for my brother’s new business. Today I order all of the marketing swag! Back to the comic next week. Enjoy the holiday weekend, Americans!

Hey, folks! I wanted to let you know that starting June 9 through July 7 this strip will be ON VACATION! I’ll be taking a break to help my brother start up his new business. Maybe I’ll post more details on that a bit later.

Meanwhile, go visit We The Robots, or Lileks (both on the sidebar) or another fine Comic Establishment. And as always, thanks for your patronage.

See you in July!

Present Magazine, an online A&E magazine based in Kansas City was kind enough to take an interest in the comic. Check it out at Present Magazine. Stick around for some of the local arts information, especially if you’re a local. Good stuff.
